LEAVING PRAGUE

We leave Prague this morning for Vienna. We spent our last day in Prague exploring the New Town area by tram and then the Jewish quarter after a long lunch at an excellent Italian restaurant. As we entered, the staff and clientele were all speaking Italian and it smelt magnificent.  We ordered the three-course lunch of Pasta Olio, pan-fried chicken and vegetables and dessert, washed down with an earthy Italian Sangiovese.  It was the perfect final lunch in a city of contrasts. Prague seems to be a work in progress. The amazing architecture is smothered by hordes of tourists and a melting pot of gastronomy is challenging the traditional cuisine. Even so, it is a spectacular destination and like no other place I have ever been.

  1. How is Vienna? Eagerly awaiting the next installment. No pressure but this is the closest I can get to experiencing my own European adventure for, at least, a few more years.
